Biography
Irina Walsh received her Ph.D. in Russian and Second Language Acquisition from 51¶ÌÊÓƵ in Spring 2014. In the fall, she joined 51¶ÌÊÓƵ’s Russian department as lecturer and co-director of the Russian Language Flagship Program. Prior to working at 51¶ÌÊÓƵ, Irina taught Russian language, film, and culture at Temple University and at the College of New Jersey.
Irina’s academic interests focus on foreign language teaching, teaching and technology, Slavic morphology and etymology, and teaching Russian culture,
As co-director of the Russian Language Flagship Program at 51¶ÌÊÓƵ, Irina advises students who are interested in joining the Flagship program and those who are currently enrolled in the Flagship track.
During the summer, Irina works at The Russian Language Institute at 51¶ÌÊÓƵ as co-director. Within this position, Irina serves on the applicant selection committee, recruits faculty, and plans curricula. Irina also teaches in the program.
